Julia Lima, russian operatic soprano, born on November 5th 1981 in Russia, Uralsky settlement of Perm region. From 1986 till 1996 - devoted herself to a professional gymnastics. 1996 - get master of sports degree. From 1996 till 1999 - studied in chorus studio, was a soloist. In 1999 at the regional competition of young talents got the Grand Prix, sponsors of the competition (Gazprom Company) presented her the deposit certificate for the education in the State Musical College named after Gnessins (the prestigious musical college in Moscow). In 1999 - entered the State Musical College named after Gnessins. 2001 - All-Russian competition "Festos" (the 1st prize), international competition "Romansiada" (the prize); 2003-bachelor degree in the State Musical College named after Gnessins. From 2002 - concert activity in Russia, Italy (Rome). 2005 - "International Festival of Arts in Yalta " (the 1st prize). From 2006 - the performances at the main concert halls of Russia and CIS states as the Kremlin palace (Moscow Russia), the International Music House (Moscow, Russia), Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Moscow, Russia), Moscow Conservatory's Grand Hall (Moscow, Russia), Belgrade Arena (Belgrade, Serbia). Participated regularly in the shooting of TV cultural programs, TV-shows, magazines. 2008 - acted in the full- length film "Very Russian detective". 2011- made her american debut as Madame Herz in Mozart's "Der Schauspieldirektor" with New York Lyric Opera; performed as Susanna in american premiere Mercadante's "I due Figaro" with Amore Opera; winner of NY district of the Metropolitan National Council Competition; finalist of NYIOP (New York); the performances at the Merkin Hall, Carnegie Hall (Well Recital Hall),Nichols Concert Hall. 2012-the finalist of The Fritz and Lavinia Jensen Foundation and the finalist of the New York Lyric Opera Competition; has appeard as the Queen of the Night and as the 1st Dame in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" with Opera Company of Brooklyn; as Armida in baroque pastiche opera "Armida" at the Angel

Orensanz Foundation, whom The New York Times says "has the right noble temperament

for her slow arias". 2012-2013 she makes her debut as Rosalinda with Knoxville Opera; returns as Musetta with Amore Opera, whom Broadwayworld said "played the

impassioned, volatile role with astonishing power and great musical expertise"; makes her debut as Catarina Cavalieri in new production of Dicapo Opera Theater "Marrying

Mozart", which The Classical Source wrote "was brilliant in 'D'Oreste d'Ajace' (Idomeneo) and 'Martern aller Arten' (Die Entführung aus dem Serail)" and as Nella in "Gianni

Schicchi". Julia Lima has wonderful lirico-coloratura voice of true operatic calibre and three octave

range up to a thrilling F above high F. Her voice is equally balanced throughout its registers, including a warm and full middle and lower range.
